and here is the rest of the story

The weather is beautiful.

I received a whole new level of schooling in report card etiquette today and I was frightened when I walked out of the meeting.  I did learn something about one of my co-workers - RC is amazing for doing what she does and I know I could never handle her work load.

Yesterday I was part of this healthy exercise movement - I've not quite figured out what part I will play, but it should be interesting.  See badge on the left side for more info.

As my assistant has come back from vacation I am reminded as to why my life is as hectic as it is.  I really wish my assistant was not Benedict Arnold.

My brother started moving out today - I will sad to see him go but again the bathroom will be all mine!

Last friday was our turn to wear pink - here is the crew...

Today's funniest comment from school goes to...
VinShae tells Tatyanna - "Shut your big fat mouth" all while she is turned around backwards in her chair with her feet up in the air.

Now part of my job is to hold whatever gets handed to me - since we've had nice weather we have been recessing it up...
Monday's goods :  home made handcuffs (toy car tires and broken mardi gras beads) - 7 quarters, one green apple airhead, a belt and one 'treasure map' (a family picture by Alboni)

Tuesday was left to a collection of dandelions and buttercups

books, glorious books

tbr my blogger friend from London had these questions on his blog and I'm copying them.  As I am a nerd.

Hardback or paperback?
It depends on the book type, there's nothing like the crack of the spine of a brand new hardcover, but the jacket is frivolous.

Waterstones, Borders or Amazon?
Borders for an actual book - why? I get a discount

Bookmark or dog-ear?
dog-earred books show you that books are loved

A-Z by author, or A-Z by title, or random?
Oh so random... really it's by size slightly - my taller books go ont he bottom shelf as that's the way the shelves are made

Keep, throw away, or sell?
I keep it if I like it, or pass it along to a friend - never throw away as that is a waste - I'm also the person who leaves it in a plane seat pocket or a hotel nightstand

Short story or novel?
Novel - short stories always leave me wanting more

Buy or borrow?
I buy and pass along - rarely use the library as I don't like waiting I like to browse and take home.

Tidy ending or cliffhanger?
Tidy ending - but can be happy or sad or angsty - dont make me need more in one second.

Morning reading, afternoon reading, or nighttime reading?
Nighttime

Favourite series?
LM Montgomery - Anne of Green Gables

Favourite children’s book?
New - new Fancy Nancy et all - I want to be her!

Favourite YA book?
The View from Saturday by E. L. Konigsburg

Favourite book no one has heard of?
Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin

Favourite books read last year?
White Oleander

Favourite book to re-read?
The Diary of Anne Frank and Little Women

Do you ever smell books?
Course - I love it.

What are you reading right now?
re-reading - Ya-Ya's in Bloom

What are you reading next?
The Help

How much is too much?

I dislike my job.  That is not new news to anyone who has read this blog before.  I dislike my 'clients' more or less, we have our good moments, but most days I am disgruntled towards each one at some point.  I dislike my 'company', and well there is Lord Voldemort lording over us all.

However I do like some of my co-workers.
My team mates are some of the funniest people I have ever met and each have very distinct personalities.  And some of my down the hall neighbors are hilarious.

That one fact I know is not enough to stay at a job.  I have done my research and have found a new one.  I just have to do this one until my contract is fulfilled.

Seeing though that I have found and new one and the silver lining it sitting there and waiting for me - Do I have the right to complain about work?

To some degree I think yes.  When someone asks me "How was work?" do I lie and say peachy keen or do I give them the real goods.  I usually play the middle of the road.  Sugar coat the outlook a bit and get on with it.  As do they really want to know I count the minutes of every day in intervals of five?  I constantly say to myself - 5 more minutes - I can do five more minutes.  I think the other K teacher does hers in one minute intervals.  Some days it is nice to know I'm not alone in personal torture chamber.  And no I don't want to hear the old cliche - What doesn't kill only makes us stronger - well I'm worn out and sick and tired.

In other news...

Here are my Friday fill-ins a lil late. Thanks to Lauren @ the little things we do...

1. The best piece of advice I was ever given was  sometimes you et the bar and sometimes the bar eats you.
2. If I had a million dollars to give to one charity I would give it to American Cancer Society.
3. If I got to choose my "last meal" it would be grilled cheese, dill pickles, tomato soup, and vanilla ice cream with lots of sprinkles
4. My hair is one of a kind curly mass of dark brownness - no one could attempt to use my id.
5. If at first you don't succeed decide if it is worth trying again.
6. I have always been very observant, I can probably tell you what the photos on your desk were, or if your polish is chipped.
7. Oh....and by the way....I didn't get to meet the sister, but it was the other sister - and we did have date #2 today.

So lemme catch you up...

Thank you lovely bloggers for my comments about the toxic person.  I have since filled in the BFF since she is home from the honeymoon, and she has offer to kick his butt should he choose to come near me again.  I'm sure most of you would do the same.

Now what you have all been waiting for the update on my fabulous life...

Friday Afternoon - I clean the apartment for Liz and Ross, I did a great service.  And J. ended the silent treatment with a few text msgs.  THIS is prior to him hearing 'Patti has a date" so at least I know the competition isn't what drove him back.

Friday Night - Date night - average - good time, nothing monumental.  it was rather normal.  I could nitpick it to death, but that would be counter productive.  he is not letting up though.  There is no silent treatment on this front.

Saturday Morning - parade set up and some drinking
Saturday Afternoon - parade and some more drinking, and one trip to the bathroom where my skirt might have gotten tangled up in the back, but caught before anyone else could see...
Saturday Evening - crawfish and some more drinking

At some point into the evening I was dubbed 'the lady of St. Piere'...which St.Pierre was promptly googled and discovered to be a city in Newfoundland.

Saturday Night - Abandon drinking and just attempt to stay awake long enough that J may make an appearance.  Did not occur, but I shall survive.  As I did in the surprise monsoon I walked 3 blocks in.

Sunday - Awake in enough time to shower, teach ACT class, see some SNOW, and then write lesson plans.

Monday - was school, and more school, and some random time killing on the internet, and not a lot of homework.  I may be screwed come Wednesday night, when I have to produce a lot of things in no time at all.

The most important product of Monday - a message asking if I want to meet the sister.  The sister who is also a teacher, the one who had the nephew that I hear a billion things about, the one that I have to impress.  Oh good lord, save me now.  Now contact for seven days, and now I'm meeting the sister...Does that mean you like me?  You really like me?

With that I leave you my newest worry and hope - at least for the next 24 hours.

6. A weird little quirk I have is I constantly check my necklaces to make sure the clasp stays in the back.

7. When I take personality quizzes they always say I'm ENTJ - don't ask me what it means cause you could google it just as quickly as I could!

A toxic person

Back in January I posted about having a blind date.  It was a classic blind date, we met for coffee, talked for about and hour and a half.  I wasn't wowed and he didn't fit my "do I want to kiss him criteria".  I wished him a good night and went on about my business.

In the mean time I met someone else at my favorite watering hole.

It is now the end of February -  I ran into him again.  When he asked me if we could go out again - I told him, I was interested in someone else...

A few days later I got a very hurtful email accusing me of certain things.  I wrote back sort of apologizing - I did not intent to misrepresent myself.  He immediately wrote back and I decided to ignore it.  As he was correct we would not be good for one another, and I just wanted to drop the issue completely.

Now between Friday and today, I received two more flaming emails.  I do not deserve the nastiness this almost stranger is dishing out.

A stranger should not make me cry.

I did not respond to either one.  I have taken control and blocked him thanks to privacy settings.

The randomess that is in my head...

I'm VIP - I know this because our server came out to the deck to tell us our regular table was open at our usual watering hole (an Irish Pub) on St. Patrick's Day.

Brother gets his driver's license back tomorrow!  It should be a national holiday!

The boy has not called/texted/msg'ed since he dropped me off on my car Sunday.

Boy #2 - has made a strong effort this week.

I have been cold this spring break.  I want warm weather.  On the other hand I have seem so many old friends this time, it was been lovely.

The Sweet Potato Queens are in my city!   My city!  God Save the Sweet Potato Queens!

I wear the same outfit for a first date as I do when I go to the gynecologist.

The bride and groom toilet paper

The hard rockin' ring bearer Ezra

The happy couple the night before (Ross & Liz=Riz)

Mom and I

It is almost Go time!

After Party...

Already called her 'wifey' a half dozen times

The last time we all took a picture was like two years ago!

here we go...

I am a hapy person and will remain that way, and not let an almost stranger grind my nerves.  And I know I'm happy because someone told me so.

he reads a lot and I wish I could too.

And, following his instructions, I'm going to list 10 things that make me happy:

  1. Wearing maroon - it screams my school support
  2. Dancing - I really like to dance, wish i had more chances to do it
  3. Flip flops - I've worked in a few wearing lately and want to do it all the time now
  4. Callie Cat - she snuggles with me regularly, big kitty never does
  5. Laughter - my Kindergarteners have some of the sweetest little laughs
  6. Days spent in PJ's - like today nowhere to be, but I could change at a moments notice
  7. Catching a lingering scent on a piece of clothing or in my car the day after something really good
  8. Diet Coke - anywhere, anytime, with anyone/thing
  9. Brushing my Teeth - i love brushing my teeth (preferrably with a pink toothbrush) - clean breath goes hand in hand with that.
  10. Liz and Ross' wedding being over and them happy together forever!

Boiling Hot!

I have just received the second email from someone - who called me a liar.

It irks me something awful...when this person met me once and makes these claims.  I know better - why can he not keep his opinions to himself?

Friday's Fill In's

Friday's Fill in the Blank from Lauren

1. The best day ever was last year mid-May when I realized my life was just as it was supposed to be. No complaints, I have to take it and grow!

2. My favorite meal of the day is breakfast because I will drink coffee or a diet coke, and it is a simple pleasure I do not deny myself.

3. This weekend will be awesomeness, not only am I starting Spring Break, but Liz and Ross are getting married.

4. Never in my life have I used a lawnmower.

5. The only thing better than picking out two matching socks on the first try is the weather being nice enough to not need socks.

6. I could really do with some new bras.

7. The most recent thing I bought myself was yesterday afternoon's Martini for social time with Carly!

here's the scoop

Once again at work two days in a row, I had my booty handed to me on a silver platter... 2 days until spring break - 57 days over all... The light is at the end of tunnel.

I love this song so much - it mellows me out major...

So the boy cancelled our date - very apologetic - for the third time.  I'm getting all these pep talks - don't give up, its not his fault, yadda yadda...I'm quickly meeting my statute of limitations.

I'm giving him another week before we have the come to Jesus Meeting, until then I'm limiting the on the fly kisses.

Is this the wrong time to mention I met another young man on Sunday?  I am a one woman USO.

Stuff it Sucka......

I have one little girl in my class who thinks she is the queen.  There is no telling her what to do - she asks on her own accord.  She has some small bits of right and wrong actions.  A snippet of daily conversations...
Wednesday -
"T.  where are you supposed to be?"  for the 1 billionth time
"In my seat."
"Well then go there please."
"No."
get in the MF'ing "Chair now, T."

Thursday-
4 times after being told to get away from our desks.
"T., why are you at Mrs.H's desk, again?"
"Cause I want to."
"T, get away from Mrs. H's desk."  for the love of God!  "T.  get out my paper clips, and pencils."
"No."
"Didn't we just talk about stealing with Mom and Mrs. G?"
"So."
now I'm jut grumbly.

I'd like to channel Chris Farley via Tommy Boy.

The boy kissed my in public - in front of friends.  Many times...many times.  Am I a total goob if I say I cannot even remember the last time that happened?  Yes, as I have admitted recently that I was the victim of a very long dry spell.   Hello, you kissed me in front of my very two best friends and you know these people are my very best friends there's no turning back.

Go Big Red!  Today Forest plays in the MSHSAA State basketball Championship game.  Go Bearcats!  These seniors won it their freshmen year and I can't wait to see my Forest Family today at the Big House!

Since I've got a new job for next fall - Thursday I saw in print where I would be recommended for next year.  I sniggered and in my head said - "Stuff it Sucka!"

A Game!  Alisha at Dreamer in Detroit tagged me...

Here are the rules:
1. Open your 1st Photo folder.
2. Scroll to the 10th photo.
3. Post the photo and the story behind it.
4. Tag 5 or more people.

Meet the bottom half of George.  This was taken last February during snack time one day.  He had new shoes that ad the letter X, but he only wanted me to take a picture of his feet, so he is trying to dive behind me. George was a very cute little boy, I miss him this year.  He was one of those kids that was never ever annoying.

Now I pass along the tags!
Sam @ Simply Sam
Whitney @ diet coke and sarcasm
Paige @ little miss paige
Alex @ I'm kind of that girl   (read her continuing short story)
mrs. b @ Discovering Wildlife

Now for the Friday fill in from  Lauren @ the little things we do...
. One thing I MUST do before I die is attend an MSU football game in all other 11 SEC football stadiums - 2 done (UT and UGA), 9 to go .

2. I would rather walk around with toilet paper stuck to me than walk around with food stuck in my teeth any day.

3. If I could give my younger self one piece of advice it would be TEAL WIND PANTS were a bad idea .

4. If I won the lottery tomorrow I'd pay off my car .

5. The best surprise ever was finding my best friend in an expected situation .

6. My biggest fault is I don't stand up for myself nearly enough .

7. My biggest strength is my recovery abilities - you can kick me when I'm down, but I will get up and move on .

Still in love...

About two weeks ago I posted saying I was in love with life.

I still am.  It is not all as blissful as a week ago, but some parts of are amazing.

I have someone that wants to spend time with me, like two days in a row.
I have a two people who I can say - We are the three very best friends anyone could ever have had.
I have a finish line at work.
I have a goal to meet.

I am trying to do my work and make things go well.

I also am getting this one song stuck in my head all the time - about ten year's ago Savage's - Swing.  How where it is coming from I don't know - but its there and randomly during the day it comes creeping in.

Things I am looking forward to in the next 24 hour or 6 weeks...
Seeing J.
Seeing Steph and Hamer!
Liz's wedding
Spring Break
Hal & Mal's parade
Traveling to see Stephanie
NYC

So bloggers, what are you looking forward to?

When is Lent over so I can get some ice cream - not plan for it on a Sunday.
